Visaton K 28 WP 50 Ω waterproof IP65 miniature speaker, 1 W, Ø 28 mm
Ø 28 mm miniature speaker only 5.5 mm thick, 50 Ω, 1 W (2 W max), 300–20,000 Hz, IP65 at the front and rated from −40 to 70 °C.
Visaton K 28 WP - 50 Ω is a 2.8 cm miniature speaker with a Mylar diaphragm, designed for very small devices. It offers a balanced frequency response and good voice reproduction, with IP65 protection at the front and operation down to −40 °C. Its 50 Ω impedance reduces the current drawn from the driving circuit.
Key features
- Ultra-compact: Ø 28 mm, 5.5 mm thick and just 7 g.
- IP65 at the front: protected against dust and water jets when built into a sealed enclosure.
- High impedance: 50 Ω, useful in low-current circuits or when several speakers share one output.
- Clear voice: 300–20,000 Hz with a balanced response.
- Cold-resistant: tested for operation in the cold to EN 60068-2-1/EN 50155, range −40 to 70 °C.

Typical applications
Signalling and monitoring speaker for small electronic devices, handheld equipment, measuring instruments, outdoor sensors and terminals, toys and gadgets, wearables and maker projects with Arduino or ESP32 playing tones, beeps and short voice messages.
Mounting and wiring tips
- For IP65, build it into a sealed enclosure over a Ø 24 mm cutout, with the front facing outwards.
- Solder wires to the pads quickly and at moderate temperature, without heating the diaphragm for long.
- Do not connect it directly to Arduino or ESP32 pins: use a driver transistor or an amplifier module such as LM386, PAM8403 or MAX98357.
- Many amplifier modules are optimised for 4–8 Ω: into a 50 Ω load they deliver less power, which suits signalling but should be checked in the module datasheet; in any case stay within 1 W rated.
- A small closed volume behind the diaphragm improves output and sound pressure.
